Thomas Revington was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he lived until the age of 30 before moving to London. He now calls Los Angeles home, though he frequently travels back to the UK, where his family is based.
A lifelong lover of image-making, art, and film, Thomas first found creative refuge in music during his early teens — the perfect outlet for a teenager with a head full of questions. Music became his identity, leading to years of performing in bands, most notably as a member of Shortstraw, a group that played major festivals and toured Japan multiple times.
Filmmaking came naturally — and a little out of necessity — when the band needed music videos but didn’t have the budget to hire directors. He started making them himself, and immediately, something clicked. It wasn’t just a side project. It was a reawakening. Filmmaking became the perfect synthesis of all his creative passions.
After earning a four-year film degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, Thomas continued exploring music videos, short films, and commercial work, developing a visual language rooted in storytelling, emotion, and instinct.
On set, Thomas is known for being passionate but level-headed — calm, positive, and solution-oriented. He thrives on collaboration and brings an open-minded, ego-free approach to every project. He believes the best work happens when energy is aligned and people are treated with kindness.
